SOUTH AUSTIN · EST. 1989 · TWO SHOPS, ONE STANDARD
Licensed barbers, straight razors, and chairs that have been spinning since 1989. Walk in, sit down, leave sharper.
South Austin Barber Shop opened its doors in 1989, when Robert Wandersee set up his chairs in the heart of South Austin. The shop is still family-run — his grandson Matt works the floor today, carrying the family name and fifteen years of his own craft.
You will only find licensed barbers here — barbers who learned to cut men's hair from day one. Traditional barbering, modern technique, and an authentic shop experience you can count on every single time.
Licensed barbers only — since day one.

Every barber at SAB runs his own chair, with his own book and his own prices — call your shop for today's openings. Walk-ins always welcome.
Ten chairs on Slaughter Lane — meet three of them, and the rest of the crew.
Licensed since 2009

Clippers and shears in licensed hands only — the cut you asked for, finished with detail work.
Hot towel, straight-razor edges, a clean neck shave. You leave sharper than you came in.

Probably one of the best cuts I've gotten in Austin.
Matt's cut my hair twice now and I've had a great experience both times.
Extremely talented barbers in a traditional barber shop setting. Real professionals in every sense of the word.
